Huchuy Qosqo(little Cusco)is located in the north part of CUSCO city, the altitude is about 3600 meters above sea level, the name in Quechua means small Cusco, in time of the Incas this place was the refuge of the Inca Wiracocha (dad of inca Pachacutec), after the war in Cusco with the Chancas.
Huchuy Qosqo is located on the heights of the Sacred Valley in Cusco inca region which still maintains an original Inca trail, it is an archaeological center with many agricultural terraces, reservoirs and water sources and many store houses. It is also called the Balcony of the Sacred Valley.

At 07:00 We will pick you up from your hotel and drive you through the Andes, we will pass the Piuray lake near of Chinchero then drive to Cuper community, the starting point of the hike from there we’ll capture a view of the Veronica snowcapped mountain and the Vilcabamba range. The walk starst with uphill hike then downhill over the altiplano overlooking the snowcapped mountains, slowly descending to the Inca site of Huchuyqosqo. This place was a palace during the Inca time and it is very well preserved with high Inca structures made of stone and mud-bricks.
Along the route we will see the houses of peasants, fields with different kinds of crops, like potatoes , corn, barley and some llamas coming to Cusco from the Andean villages along with their owners, all of them wear beautiful clothes for the photos of the tourists in Cusco City.
These ruins were built on the top of the mountain with many streams running on each side. After relaxing, we will enjoy our prepared lunch, after that we will continue our hike downhill until we meet our vehicle in Lamay, it will take us back to Cusco, and arrive around 16:00pm.
